Allyson Morgan
Allyson Morgan is a writer, performer, producer, Columbus, Ohio native, and graduate of The Ohio State University. She is the founder and Executive Director of the award-winning film and theatre collective F*It Club. She loves fruit pies, bourbon, international solo travel, and naps.
Writer: Allyson’s first short film Need For Speed (Dating) premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, while her next short, Sitting, made its world premiere at SCAD Savannah Film Festival and won "Outstanding Narrative Short" at Tallgrass Film Festival. First Date, her short film produced by 20th Digital Studio, is currently airing on Hulu in their "Bite Size Halloween" series. Allyson adapted First Date into a feature film for Hulu, titled Jagged Mind, which the LA Times called “edgy” and “powerful.” Her newest short, The Ghost, which also serves as her directorial debut, made its world premiere at the RiverRun International Film Festival in 2024. She has also been selected for the New York Stage and Film Filmmakers’ Workshop, been awarded “Best Teleplay” at Omaha Film Festival, twice been a top ten Finalist for Cinequest, a Finalist at Stowe Story Labs, and a Semi-Finalist at Austin Film Festival. Additionally, she has been awarded an Ensemble Studio Theatre/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Commission, a Djerassi Artist Residency (California), an NG Art Creative Residency (France), a Monson Arts Residency (Maine), a Vashon Artist Residency (Washington), a Wassaic Project “Haunted Mill” residency (NY), and multiple Juno Leadership Residencies through the Omega Institute (NY). Allyson has two novels, Don’t Want To Remember You and The Perfect Place, currently available through Tapas Media, and she has written freelance reviews and interviews for Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Back of House, Tribeca Shortlist, Mashed, and Chowhound. She is represented for literary by Heroes and Villains Entertainment.
Performer: Most recently, she has been seen onstage with F*It Club (world premieres by Kevin Artigue, Lucy Boyle, Bekah Brunstetter, Jon Caren, Kate Gersten, Nick Jones, Chelsea Marcantel, Sarah Sander, Mark Schultz, and Amy Staats) and EST/Youngblood, and has performed in readings all over New York at Playwrights Horizons, The Lark, New York Theatre Workshop, & Jewish Plays Project, among others. She has been named a "performer to watch" by ReviewFix.com. TV: "Law and Order: SVU" (NBC), "The Americans" (FX), "Hostages" (CBS), "Inside Amy Schumer" (Comedy Central), "Divorce" (HBO). Producer: In addition to Executive Producing ten years of F*It Club's programming, including ten seasons of "The Spring Fling," five short films, and "Webseries: The Webseries," Allyson has served as Festival Producer for the BEAT Festival, Associate Artistic Producer for the Cape Cod Theatre Project, Assistant Producer for Collective Agency, Spring Showcase and Visionaries Tribute Producer for DOC NYC, Virtual Event and Theater Producer for the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital, Co-Producer of The Green Plays in conjunction with Gowanus Art + Production, Program Producer for IFC Center/Craft Ed. Seminars, Festival Producer and Artistic Director for Indie Street Film Festival, Festival Producer for the Jewish Plays Project's Open Festival, Festival Producer for Montclair Film Festival, Co-Producer/Programmer for NYC Indie Theatre Film Festival and Producer for the Waterwell Drama Program.
For two years at The Peoples Improv Theater, she produced a sold out run of Hold On To Your Butts, which was named a "critic's pick" and one of the "top ten comedy shows" by Time Out New York. Allyson was a part of the Webby Award-winning team for Dave Holstein and Alan Schmuckler's Wait, Wait, Don't Kill Me, producing the podcast for Wondery Media's Secrets, Crimes, and Audiotape. She also co-created and produced, with frequent collaborator Kevin Laibson and Developer Alex Coulombe, Ghosted, an AR experience for the Magic Leap One headset, which was awarded “Most Innovative Immersive Experience” at the North Bend Film Festival (NBFF) and recently selected for the Wassaic Project’s Haunted Mill. Allyson and Kevin also were asked to return to NBFF with Marcia Needs Space, an immersive film/scavenger hunt experience called “genuinely innovative and fun” by The Sunbreak.
